BAWAG Security App 2.5

The BAWAG Security App is a valuable tool for users seeking to combine the flexibility of modern eBanking services with robust security measures. It serves as a reliable companion on smartphones or tablets, providing access to an advanced signing procedure that fully meets the high security standards mandated by the European Banking Authority: the secTAN method.

Through the Security App, users receive secTAN tokens protected by TouchID or FaceID, ensuring that transaction authorizations are both convenient and highly secure. The app facilitates seamless and safe signing of financial transactions, aligning with contemporary security requirements.

Note: To utilize the BAWAG Security App, activation of the secTAN process is required, along with installation of the app itself. Users should log into their usual BAWAG P.S.K. eBanking account and navigate to the "Service" tab under "Security Management - secTAN Administration" to request an activation code. Following this, users must complete the activation steps within the Security App.

Key features include:

• Signing transactions with secTAN: After submitting a transaction via eBanking, users receive a push notification in the Security App. By clicking this notification, they can review transaction details and retrieve the specific secTAN code. For added security, users are advised to verify all data before authorizing the transaction in eBanking using the displayed secTAN.
• Requesting a one-time PIN: Once TouchID or FaceID is activated, users can access additional security functions within the app. A one-time PIN can be generated and used in lieu of a personal PIN for single sign-on, which is especially useful when logging in from public computers or while traveling. This feature also provides a secure alternative if the user has forgotten their regular PIN.
